Dear readership!
You are holding in your hands the first issue of a specialized journal representing the results of scientific research into the history and cultural heritage of the Tatar people and modern development of Tatarstan.
Under current conditions, consolidated efforts of scientists from different countries, who study language and literature, social ideas and religion, education and culture of the Tatar people, play a special part. This area provides specialists with a vast field of research. The interest in the journal is also excited by wide spread of Tatar population around the world: there is Tatar diaspora in 43 countries.
Today our Republic is the largest venue for political, socio-economic, cultural and sports events. In this context, it is particularly important to introduce the world cultural and scientific community to the traditions and current achievements of Tatarstan. It is a major challenge the new journal has to meet. Formation and development of such an edition will allow to include it in the prestigious lists of publications indexed by international organizations in the near future.
I’m convinced that Tatarica journal will take its rightful place among the scientific and humanitarian publications. It will surely be of great demand among not only experts, but also a wide range of readers.
