    Annotation It is shown that the decrease in the efficiency of coalescence of the disperse phase of liquid emulsions is due to the same factors which subsequently participate in the establishment of the maximum size of the enlarged drops d//m//a//x. This leading effect of the destructive factors on agglomerates of liquid drops in contact is due to their larger effective diameter and lower strength in comparison to drops of the same total volume. The analysis of coalescence of the disperse phase in consideration of suppression of the drop enlargement process under the effect of turbulent movement permits validly interpreting the data from experimental studies of liquid emulsions, reliably estimating constants K and alpha , and calculating the optimum values of the parameters of technological processes on this basis
