This study employs the Kolmogorov-Hinze model extended previously to the breakup of deformed drops by a nonuniform turbulent stream in a pipeline and makes a similar analysis of experimental data in the literature for mixers with turbine-driven agitators. The authors have obtained a new relationship which accounts for the additional effect of viscous forces on drop comminution with the aid disaggreement does not occur, the comminution process is reflected adequately in the ratio of the inertial and surface forces and there is no reason for modifying the Kolmogorov-Hinze model |
