The University trains about 700 postgraduates and doctoral students with more than 180 first and 30 higher doctoral degrees being awarded every year, where 35-40 first and 15-20 higher doctoral degrees to KFU staff only.

Annually researchers  produce over 4,500 publications, including monographs, articles, textbooks and teaching guides. According to Times Higher Education World University Rankings Kazan University is included in Top 20% in citations in 2016.  

PUBLICATIONS DATABASE of Kazan Federal University consists of 60114 items of scientific and educational resources. 

Annually, KFU hosts on average 90-100 academic events (symposia, conferences, meetings and workshops), whereas the share of international forums peaked at one-third of the total.
