The department has educational and scientific laboratory of musical folklore of Tatar and peoples of the Volga region, founded in the framework of the project Russian Humanitarian Science Foundation No.14-16-16006 "Ethno musical traditions of the peoples of the Volga region: pedagogical aspect" The project manager is the candidate of pedagogical sciences, docent N. Kh. Nurgayanova. Laboratory staff conducted scientific and practical research in the field of ethnomusicology and ethno pedagogics. A team of scientists has published a monograph "Ethno musical traditions of the peoples of the Volga region in conditions of modern multi-cultural education".
