First Russian-Chinese Workshop on Organic and Supramolecular Chemistry

This Workshop is devoted to 150 Anniversary of D.I.Mendeleev Russian Chemical Society


The Organizing Committee is pleased to invite you to participate in the 1st Russian-Chinese Workshop on Organic and Supramolecular Chemistry (RCWOSC-1), which will be held in Kazan (Russia), August 27-29, 2018.

Arrival day is August 26, 2018. The scientific program will start on Monday, August 27, 2018 and the last scientific session is preliminary scheduled on Wednesday, August 29, 2018. Departure day is August 30, 2018.

The idea of this Workshop is to gather in one place about 15-20 well-known scientists from Russia and China in fields of Organic and Supramolecular Chemistry with the aim to establish close contacts and scientific cooperation, as well as to attract young scientists to the leading scientific centers of Russia and China. So, the participation of young scientists, post-graduate students and students in the Workshop is welcomed. They can get acquainted with the world-class topics within the framework of the seminar, and also find the opportunities to develop their own career (postgraduate or post-doc positions, traineeships etc.)

The Workshop is organized by Kazan Federal University, A.E.Arbuzov Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry (Kazan, Russia), Russian Foundation for Basic Research, Federal Agency of Scientific Organizations and D.I. Mendeleev Russian Chemical Society.

LOCATION

Kazan is the capital of Tatarstan Republic and is situated along the Volga River in the European part of Russia. City is within 800 km to east from Moscow. Kazan is one of the oldest university's cities and large scientific and cultural center of the Russia. Kazan Federal University, founded in 1804 is a key multidisciplinary and research-oriented university of Russia. This place is associated with the beginning of Russian organic chemistry. and the names of outstanding chemists such as K.K.Klaus, N.N.Zinin, A.M.Butlerov, V.V.Markovnikov, A.M.Zajtsev, A.E.Arbuzov, B.A.Arbuzov. The spirit of chemistry of last centuries is carefully preserved in the museum of chemistry at the A.M.Butlerov Chemical Institute of Kazan Federal University.

Kazan is easily accessible by plane (Aeroflot, S7, Turkish Airlines, Finnair, Flydubai) or train.

How to reach Kazan

By plane

Kazan International Airport (IATA: KZN) is 30km to the southeast of the city center. Aeroflot, S7, Transaero and UTAir fly between Kazan and Moscow, and Rossiya Airlines also flies to Kazan from Saint Petersburg. Finnair, Flydubai, Turkish Airlines and Air Baltic, Azal, Air Astana are some of the international carriers flying to Kazan.

By train

Kazan is easy to reach by train, as it is a major station stop for several west-east trains. Depending on the train, travel from Moscow's Kazan Station can be as short as 11 hours. Kazan's train station is located close to the city center, with several hotels, restaurants, and the Kremlin within walking distance of the train station.
