Funding allocated to World-Level Research Center in Liquid Hydrocarbons

The federal government disbursed 135 million ruble to the WLRC for the rest of the year 2020.

Kazan Federal University acts as the head institution in this consortium, which also involves three other Russian universities. The Center aims to develop technologies of eco-friendly and cheap petroleum extraction. It builds on the foundation made by leading Russian institutions in this area, in particular, on KFU’s EcoOil Research Unit’s works in heavy oils and in-situ combustion catalysts.

This particular Center is one of the eleven which were picked for the 2020-2025 budget period. Liquid Hydrocarbons Center plans to receive 2.5 billion rubles in funding during this time, of which KFU is slated to accept 1.4 billion.
