Cooperation agreement signed with Gomel State University

The two institutions will apply for binational research grants.

Rector of Gomel State University Sergey Khakhomov is one of the guests of the ongoing Gromyko Readings. Rector of KFU Ilshat Gafurov invited Dr. Khakhomov for a meeting on 11th October.

“I last visited Belarus 12 years ago, and I have the best memories from that trip. High-quality universities and industrial enterprises which managed to preserve and improve on the existing potential give us a hope for successful cooperation,” noted Dr. Gafurov.

The two universities have common interests in engineering, environment, humanities, and cooperation with Japan.

After the signing, Rector Khakhomov said, “Today, we laid a foundation for cooperation between Kazan Federal University and Gomel State University by signing this framework agreement. There are multiple forms of collaborations, such as applying to the Russian Foundation for Basic Research and the Belarus Republican Foundation for Basic Research.”

Since there are no language or culture barriers and the two universities are situated in the Union State, conditions for cooperation seem especially favorable.
