Laboratory of Intelligent Robotic Systems had presented its reports at the 14th International Conference on Electromechanics and Robotics 'Zavalishin's Readings' (ER(ZR)-2019) in the Southwest State University.

From 17 to 20 April 2019 the XIV International Conference on Electromechanics and Robotics "Zavalishin's Readings" was held in Kursk, Russia. The first conference was organized in 2006 by the Institute of Innovative Technologies in Electromechanics and Robotics of the St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation (SUAI) and was dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Institute. This time the conference is held at the Southwest State University (SWSU) in collaboration with the XIII International Scientific and Technical Conference "VIBRATION-2019. The vibration technology, mechatronics and controlled machines".
The aim of the conference is to exchange the information and the progressive results of research paper of scientific-pedagogical workers', young scientists, postgraduate student, applicant and students in the field of automated control systems, technical physics, electromechanics, electroenergetics, electrical technology, mechatronics, robotics and management in electroenergetics.
The conference was organized by the SUAI and the St. Petersburg Institute for Informatics and Automation of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPIIRAS) in collaboration with the SWSU.
This year a Head of the Intelligent Robotics Department of Higher Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems (ITIS) professor Evgeni Magid was invited for a conference opening as a main contributor, where he gave a lecture on Artificial intelligence based framework for robotic search and rescue operations conducted jointly by international teams. He also talked about the work of the laboratory, the possibilities and prospects of training at the Higher Institute of ITIS under the Master's program in Intelligent Robotics "Intelligent Robotics".
Evgeni Magid: “There is a high level of disaster risks in many parts of Asia, including the Asian part of the Russian Federation. On the territory of the Russian Federation there are more than 30 kinds of nature disasters, among them floods are the most frequent ones. They suffer the hardest loses within the human victims and region's economy. Meanwhile a prompt and detailed forecast of a disaster may somewhat reduce the damage from its consequences; an affected region, even with the best outcome, will have to encounter the consequences of the disaster. That's why the development of a robotic information system for controlling the process of disaster management, which allows to increase the efficiency and speed of elimination of consequences, today is one of the most relevant and urgent tasks facing the scientific community.
Professor Evgeni Magid, a Head of the Laboratory of Intelligent Robotic Systems of Higher Institute of ITIS, had also presented the papers written by LIRS co-workers and students:
“Virtual Experiments on ArUco and ArTag Systems Comparison for Fiducial Marker Rotation Resistance”. Authors: Aufar Zakiev, Ksenia Shabalina, Tatyana Tsoy, Evgeni Magid.
“Modelling Tracks and Controller for Servosila Engineer Robot”. Authors: Ilya Moskvin, Roman Lavrenov.
