28th September - Kazan Federal University office opened at National University of Uzbekistan

 

28th September – Over 60 KFU students received Oxford Russia Fund scholarships

In academic year 2018/2019, 170 students are planned to become recipients of the scholarship. The amount is 7,000 rubles a month for one year.

Secretary of Oxford Russia Fund Alastair Tulloch noted, “Our Fund’s goal is to help you succeed in your studies, which can further contribute to your career advancement.” Professor John Nightingale encouraged the students to propose new forms of talent support.

Since 2008, the Fund has allocated over 93 million rubles to Kazan University, including 86.6 million in scholarships.

 

1st October – Visits by Ambassador of Indonesia Wahid Supriyadi and Lord Waverley

 

1st and 2nd October – KFU representatives contributed to #EdCrunch conference in Moscow

Over 5,000 people arrived to join the largest Russian forum on new educational technologies. KFU dispatched Yelabuga Institute employees. The group was headed by the Institute Director Yelena Merzon.

 

1st to 4th October – 3rd International Conference Paleolimnology of Northern Eurasia

Over a 100 researchers from several countries partook in the proceedings. Vice-Rector for Research of Kazan Federal University Danis Nurgaliev and his colleagues have been engaged in limnology studies since 1991. During this time, the research group has presented a drilling device and a seismic analysis device for lake sediments.

Paleoclimatology, Paleoecology and Paleomagnetism Lab works successfully with a number of local and overseas partners. In particular, there is an ongoing project with the University of Cologne.

 

3rd October – KFU researcher contributed to an important paralysis treatment research

 

5th October – Student-made anemometer to be produced by one of Kazanian companies
