Prospective Joint Projects in Public Health Discussed with American Academics

Two guests from the US visited the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology.

They were John Hardman (former CEO of Carter Center) and Alfred W. Brann Jr. (Professor of Pediatrics) from Emory University. The American colleagues arrived to seek potential partners in public healthcare projects. They visited the Medical Simulation Center, studied the existing programs, and learnt about interdisciplinary aspects of the University’s work.

Doctors Hardman and Brann were especially interested in the childbirth simulation room and child medical simulators, the only provider of which in the world is KFU's partner Eidos Medicine.

A meeting was held with Institute's Deputy Director Rashat Fayzullin, Head of Gene and Cell Technologies Lab Albert Rizvanov, and Associate Professor Sayar Abdulkhakov.

Among the discussed topics were gene and cell therapy for regenerative medicine and wet lab and dry lab projects scheduled to open soon at the Institute’s new facility.

The visitors showed interest in further advancing their knowledge of the Institute’s research work.
