Kazan University is One of the Most Attractive Russian Higher Education Institutions for Chinese Students

KFU is represented at the 12th Forum of Universities of Russian Far East, Siberia, and Northeast China in Harbin.

The delegates are Director of the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies Ramil Khayrutdinov and Director of the Higher School of Historical Sciences and World Cultural Heritage Ayrat Sitdikov.

This year's forum is titled «Universities of Russia and China: Strategy of Linking Eurasian Union and One Belt One Road».

Among other things, KFU's experience in enrolment from PRC is of interest to colleagues. 574 students from our neighbor in the Far East are currently studying at the University (of 4,252 international students in total). The dynamics have been impressive - from just 2 students in 2002 to 126 in 2010 and almost six hundred today.

KFU has working agreements with 25 Chinese educational and research organizations and is a part of many bilateral associations and committees. Among the latter are Asian Universities Association, BRICS Universities League, Volga-Yangtze International Universities Association, China-Russia Union of Journalistic Education, and (the currently still in the organizing process) Association of Classical Universities of Russia and China.

A poll held by China Radio International on VK.com showed that KFU is the fourth most popular Russian university among Chinese youth. February 2017 marked KFU's first appearance on Chinese television, namely in a promotional material on Hunan TV.

This and other efforts contributed to KFU receiving an award for its international admission work. Kazan University is eager to share its expertise and has created a guideline set which is currently being implemented by other top universities in the nation.
