Council of vice-rectors for social education of federal universities is being held at KFU.

The topic this time is extremism and terrorism prevention. The seminar was opened with the presentation of the new textbook on this matter authored by Kazan University’s employees and some of their colleagues from other institutions. The editor was Chair of the Department of Conflictology Andrey Bolshakov.

He said, «One of the main areas for our departments and for the Center for Mediation, Conflict Resolution and Extremism Prevention is working out recommendations for such prevention and holding relevant events. Conflictologists work with different audiences, and this textbook is made to help them choose the necessary approach in each case».

The textbook can be of use to both experts and general audience.

Vice-Rector for Social Education Arif Mezhvedilov agreed that the textbook is very timely. Kazan University has its own departments tasked with battling extremist activities. This problem has undoubtedly become very topical recently. The seminar will conclude with new decisions in this sphere.
