The guests from Istanbul found time in their packed itinerary to tour the premises of Kazan University. For most of them it was the first visit to KFU. In his comments to local media head of the delegation, Member of the Istanbul Municipal Council Mehmet Ozgur emphasized the important role that KFU plays in shaping the positive image of Russia in Turkey and in expanding scientific and educational exchange: "In 2 weeks a group of students from Kazan will arrive to intern in Istanbul. I hope that exchange programs will grow in scale, and more young people from your city will come to Istanbul University. Our local high school graduates are in the process of enrolment in KFU right now".

During this year alone several guests from Turkey have visited Kazan University. There was a visit of the representatives of the State Board of Turkey to the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies; a meeting between Rector Ilshat Gafurov and Turkish Consul General Turhan Dilmac; a visit by the Chairman of the Grand National Assembly Cemil Cicek. 

Turkey is also one of the major partners in international study exchange.

Director of the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies Ramil Khayrutdinov notes the fruitful students exchange partnership between KFU and Turkish universities. One of the most notable is with Yunus Emre Institute, the chairman of which visited Kazan in June.
