We report observation of dynamic nuclear polarization in a GaAs vertical double quantum dot, emerging due to hyperfine interaction with three confined electrons in the nonconventional regime of three-electron spin blockade. Our data indicate that nuclear pumping occurs in the whole range of detuning within spin blockade regime, and three regimes of pumping could be distinguished, characterized by different magnitude and direction of polarization. Corresponding electron-nuclear spin dynamics is understood by considering relevant three-electron states mixed by hyperfine interaction. Also, extremely long nuclear spin relaxation time is reported, much longer than that observed in vertical double quantum dots previously. |
