Annotation

The peculiarities of creation of extended metaphor in English and Russian are examined in the article. Influence of a phraseological context on the extended metaphor is analyzed within the bounds of a cognitive theory. Cognitive models used by native-speakers of English and Russian when creating the extended metaphor or finding correspondences are under study
