This research provides a comprehensive assessment of spatial differentiation and transport accessibility in the million-
plus city of Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, employing geoinformation technologies and QGIS 3.40 software. A spatial
database of the city was created, encompassing demographic indicators, social infrastructure, and the urban transport
network. To quantitatively assess the relationship between the studied parameters, Moran's spatial autocorrelation index
was calculated. The results obtained for the population density indicator (I = 0.42, Z = 8.76) demonstrate a statistically
significant positive spatial autocorrelation, confirming the presence of a cluster structure and the formation of
structurally homogeneous areas within the urban environment. Based on the analysis, three main types of territories were
identified within the million-plus city. The first type: the «urban core« with high/moderate urban population density and
maximum infrastructure saturation; the second type: «compact periphery« with high population density but a shortage of
social facilities, indicating potential social strain; finally, the third type: «sparse periphery« with low density and minimal
provision, characteristic of areas with individual residential development. The research results are visualized as a series
of geoinformation maps, which serve as an effective tool for spatial analysis and urban environment development
