Digitalization has long been a stable trend in the development of global society. New digital technologies are widely used in areas where information is a key component of activity. Since digital technologies simplify the access, dissemination, storage and creation of information, it is considered as an ideal means of overcoming epistemic injustice in the field of education. In general, epistemic injustice can be defined as a socially conditioned restriction of an agent in access to the dissemination, acquisition or production of knowledge. Active digitalization of education makes it possible to overcome such limitations and provide an opportunity for poorly represented social groups to gain access to knowledge. However, at the same time, digitalization opens up other forms of epistemic injustice that are not overcome by the availability of education. Based on the conducted questionnaire surveys of students of Russian universities in 2021 (n=6953) and in 2022 (n=5720), the authors found that senior students are less interested in studying. At the same time, the vast majority of students surveyed are satisfied with the conditions and organization of the educational process. The authors argue that the current situation is natural for the modern model of the university, in which knowledge is valued in its practical application in order to increase capital. The authors demonstrate that such a value orientation of the university and society creates conditions for epistemic injustice. Technological progress in the field of education associated with the introduction of digital technologies is not an effective solution to this problem. On the contrary, digitalization turns into an external appearance of epistemic justice. On the one hand, society provides the agent with limitless opportunities for learning, but on the other hand, it forms such value orientations that make these opportunities meaningless for him.
