Annotation

This article examines the ethical challenges of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into educational processes, focusing on the Russian context. While AI offers significant benefits, such as adaptive learning systems, automated assessments, and personalized education, it also raises critical ethical concerns. These include over-reliance on technology, diminished critical thinking, plagiarism risks, digital inequality, and accountability issues. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining retrospective analysis of legislative frameworks, secondary data analysis, and a sociological survey of first-year management students at Kazan Federal University (KFU). Key findings reveal that 79.3% of respondents use AI tools (e.g., chatbots like GPT) for academic tasks, yet 56.5% disclose their AI usage only upon request, highlighting transparency gaps. The authors analyze existing ethical guidelines, such as Russia's 2021 AI Ethics Code and UNESCO recommendations, emphasizing principles like fairness, transparency, and accountability. Case studies from leading Russian universities, including KFU and Tomsk State University, illustrate efforts to balance AI integration with ethical safeguards. The article concludes with policy recommendations: establishing clear ethical standards, enhancing digital literacy programs, implementing monitoring systems, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders. Additionally, it proposes student-oriented principles (e.g., honesty, responsibility, critical engagement) to guide ethical AI use in academia. This research underscores the urgency of addressing ethical dilemmas to ensure equitable and responsible AI adoption in education, contributing to global discourse on AI governance.
