    Annotation The Center of Korean Studies at Kazan Federal University, with the support of the Korean Ministry of Education, began its overseas Korean studies project on June 1, 2016 and conducted research on the history and current lives of the Koryo-saram in the western Ural Mountains of the Russian Federation until November 30, 2023. The results of this research were published in April 2024 as «Research on the History of the Koryo People in the Central and Southern Regions of Russia.« This article aims to present the historical facts and academically valuable materials related to the Koryo people unearthed through this research, as well as the main core content. The main content will cover the timing and purpose of Koreans' migration to the central and southern regions of Russia since 1980, the oppression they endured there and the difficult life of adapting to the local area, and the lives of their descendants currently living there.
