NB-IoT represents a promising technology for facilitating ma-chine-to-machine communication within cellular IoT. The battery life of user equipment (UE NB-IoT) stands as a critical parameter for ensuring the sustained and dependable operation of NB-IoT applications over time. Modeling the energy consumption of au-tonomous UE NB-IoT constitutes a crucial step in the develop-ment of NB-IoT-based systems. A model for estimating both a UE NB-IoT energy consumption and a battery lifetime is pro-posed. The model encompasses several distinguishing features, including consideration of the stochastic nature of signaling across physical channels, compatibility with diverse transceivers, and support for multivariate analysis, including the statistical testing, etc. Experimental studies are conducted to validate the model, encompassing varying input and internal parameters val-ues. A comparative analysis is performed to assess the obtained results and demonstrate the applicability of the proposed model for computer-aided designing NB-IoT applications. |
