Annotation

Based on regional data from 2010 to 2021, the dynamics of innovation activity and the territorial innovation gap were studied. To update the role of digitalization in solving the problem of balanced innovation development, the authors analyzed and detected the σ-convergence and β-convergence of the share of innovative goods, works and services in the volume of shipped goods, works and services. The cognitive effect of digitalization in the regional economy, which is not confirmed by panel data analysis models, the lack of interrelation between human capital, internal research costs per capita and the growth rate of the share of innovative goods, works, and services in the volume of shipped goods, works, and services allow to substantiate the conclusion that it is necessary to carry out scientific and technological policy measures aimed at the growth of innovation activity in the regions.
