The article considers various approaches and concepts of teaching professional translation to students. In the context of teaching professional translators, the formation of skills and abilities, rather than the acquisition of knowledge, comes to the fore. Since the idea of the communicative orientation of professional translation is extremely important for determining the content of training, we have concentrated on translating sentences containing implicit negation from English into Russian. Our research focuses on teaching students to analyze and use different ways of translating implicit negation which can be difficult for students. The aim of the article is to teach students to translate in such a way that it does not feel like a translation. In the introduction we consider some recommendation of the scholars who have studied interpreter and translation training. As a model of perfect translation we have used the Russian translation of the world-famous novel 'The Catcher in the Rye' by D. Salinger into Russian. The article also deals with the concepts of implicitness and implicit negation and considers some examples of structures with implicit negation in the novel translated by a professional translator. The results of the study can be used in teaching the translation activities of language faculties students and preparing training manuals and textbooks for translators |
