Annotation The timber industry is one of the oldest industries in Russia, associated with the harvesting and processing of wood. It is responsible for the stock of wood, its removal, primary processing and waste disposal. On the territory of the country there is 1/4 of all the world's timber reserves, the volume of timber harvesting is estimated at hundreds of millions of cubic meters. An integral part of the logging process is the generation of waste, the volume of which is directly related to the volume of logging operations. Every year in the Russian Federation, 35.5 million m³ of wood waste is generated, which worsens the ecological situation. Forest fires and insect pests are also one of the main causes of the weakening and death of forests. Areas with abandoned wood, affected plantings require priority development, and low-quality wood should be recycled to obtain recyclable materials. The introduction of resource-saving, environmentally friendly and efficient technology, which provides for the processing of waste and the use of secondary raw materials, will help minimize the negative impact of unclaimed wood on the environment.
