    Annotation This paper presents the results of studies of conjugated addition of nitrogen-containing nucleophiles to electron-deficient alkenes. Emphasis is placed on the synthetic aspect of the azо-Michael reaction, such as the reaction of N-methylformamide with acrylic acid in a 1:1 molar ratio. The reaction is accompanied by the release of carbon monoxide.
