dc.description.abstract	This article analyzes the ongoing transformation of the methodology of teaching and learning foreign languages (FLT / FLL) and the changing needs, roles, skills and competencies of teachers in Russian universities. The evolution of the FLT / FLL teaching and learning paradigm, which spans a wide range from conventional methods to web-based technologies, is taking place in the context of globalization, informatization and digitalization. Major disasters, including the latest COVID-19 pandemic, are also having an unprecedented impact on education systems around the world. Based on the framework of contextual, social, pedagogical, integrative and competency-based approaches covering all aspects of FLT / FLL at the university, we structured our contribution in the following logic: introduction, three sections and conclusion.	ru_RU
