The pandemic and lockdown everywhere led to an increase in the influence of digital technologies and the digital economy has become more than just a «dream future.« Digital technologies proved to be indispensable during the lockdown period. However, at the same time, the economy and industry were under threat, and the labor market experienced big difficulties. The covid-19 pandemic affected the economies of many countries around the world. According to the authors, some countries, such as Italy, have suffered more than others have, both demographically and economically.
