The current study establishes that the permissible amount of wear on the restored carburized (nitro-carburized) parts depends on the technical conditions during the operation of a vehicle. An additional condition for increasing the wear resistance of the workpieces can be an increase in the anti-scuffing properties of the active surface, which are achieved as a result of thermal oxidation. The surface finish and the cooling rate of the parts after welding will have a direct impact on the formation of pores and the depth in the layer of the weld. A prerequisite for this is the preservation of no less than 0.4 % of carbon in the surface layer of the worn part. The study proposes to use induction-heating installations for fast heating of worn elements of the parts for plastic flow. |
