dc.description.abstract	Analysis of the process of the formation of the cultural symbols of the Tatar people, contributing to the establishment of national identity, the study of musical folklore of Tatars of the Volga region in the context of specific historical events is a new look that considers musical works as historical source artifact which reflects the national character of the people. The relevance of the topic is determined by social, historical, political and cultural factors. Valuable documents and materials on the history of social and political life of the Tatars of the XIX-XXI centuries were reflected in such genres of folk creativity of the Tatars as historical songs, heroic epos, and bait. We will answer the following questions: What danger did this folk work pose to the colonial authorities? How did the loss of statehood and historical optimism cause a crisis in the epic thinking of the people? On what historical basis did the lyric-epic genre of baits appear, telling mainly about the tragic conflicts of personal or social life? Why bait is called a genre of «music journalism«?	ru_RU
