dc.description.abstract	The article considers derivative substantives as text-oriented language means that affect the content, style and evaluation of the text and reflect the intentions, mood, way of thinking and emotions of its author. The research is based on the material of the epistolary heritage of A.P. Chekhov, which is a significant material for the study of his linguistic personality in the context of language processes at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries. The semantic identity of derivative formations is investigated using the method of component analysis. The methods of definitional and distributive analysis are used, when identifying pragmatic information of a word in a context. As a result of the research, it was determined that derivative substantives, normal and occasional, are involved in the structuring and organization of the text space of Chekhov's epistolary.	ru_RU
