The authors carried out an empirical study using multivariate linear regression models. The aim of the study was to identify the determinants of growth in the value of Russian companies and to assess the tightness of the relationship between indicators reflecting: liquidity, turnover, financial stability and profitability with cost indicators. The empirical base of the study included 45 large domestic companies from seven economic sectors. Market to Book Ratio (MBR) was chosen as the resulting indicator reflecting the market value of the company, and 12 indicators characterizing the financial condition were selected at the first stage as independent indicators reflecting the financial condition. The main source of initial data was the annual financial (accounting) statements of companies for the period from 2011 to 2018. The use of relevant diagnostic and modeling methods will be effective tools for identifying the factors of increment in the value of domestic companies. Knowledge of value drivers and operational impact on them will allow the management of Russian companies to take timely measures to ensure the proper level of return on capital invested by shareholders, and to increase the competitiveness of domestic companies based on the value approach. |
