Digitalization is not a new phenomenon. It means the introduction of information technology in all spheres of life. In Russia, it has been going on for twenty years-since the late nineties. But if at first digitalization concerned simply the creation of computer infrastructure in enterprises, the distribution of personal computers in households, and was called informatization, now it is more and more concerned with industry. And any other areas in which technology can increase the efficiency of employees or existing equipment, speed up data processing, give top managers and managers reliance on objective data when making managerial decisions. The only difference between the new digitalization and informatization is that the first is much larger than in the nineties. Now, with the help of digitalization, they are mainly trying to increase the productivity of enterprises, reduce costs, simplify control, increase security, and solve other complex and pressing problems. However, a number of obstacles make digital transformation difficult. The main ones are a shortage of competent specialists and insufficient maturity of current processes. Indeed, simple automation is not enough, it is needed reengineering of current processes with an analysis of the inclusion of new tools in them, and this requires internal competence not only in IT, but also in transformation. The research methodology is based on the systemic literature review and the review of official sources, in conjunction with which were used general scientific and special methods. In the current study the authors answer the question about the current state and prospects of digitalization of the Russian economy, about the pros and cons of the further development of digital technologies, the introduction of artificial intelligence in industrial production. |
