Annotation

Leisure time is an important process of socialization of a young person. It affects many spheres of life: occupational, family, socializing, educational. Leisure time is important because here the most intense recreational processes occur, which remove physical and psychological stress. The way children use their free time, we can determine their cultural level, the range of spiritual needs and interests of individuals and social groups. The socio-cultural situation at the present stage of the Russian society development is characterized by a number of negative processes occurring in the spiritual life – the loss of spiritual and moral values, alienation from culture and art. So the authors affirm that leisure activities comprise extensive educational opportunities through the use of cultural values, accumulated by the society. The full implementation of the educational potential of the leisure sector is determined by pedagogically appropriate organization of cultural and leisure activities, where moral and spiritual values, creative and stimulating, intellectual and educational components are emphasized. Organization of leisure time in Russia is a cultural tradition, an element of cultural heritage which is not just passed on from generation to generation but preserved for a long time. Therefore, the modern society tackles a complex task – the revival of traditions of the past centuries while using children's free time. Thus, leisure activity is an important component in the formation of life skills, namely: meeting the needs of the individual in intellectual, cultural and moral development; formation of children's citizenship and ability to work and live in terms of modern civilization; the use of the experience of generations for the education of worthy citizens; providing spiritual and cultural continuity; preservation and augmentation of moral, cultural and scientific values of the society.
