One of the most difficult challenges of teaching English as a foreign language in Russia is to make students speak. This mostly happens because many students do not use foreign language outside classroom, despite the opportunity to have cross cultural communication online. Some could have a language barrier because they are not sure if they could have more or less meaningful conversation in a foreign language; some lack confidence; students are not motivated to speak in a foreign language or tasks used at lessons do not stimulate them to communicate actively. A solution is the implementation of classroom activities that involve students into active speaking. |
