    Annotation The mechanism of the linear electric polarization in FeСr2O4 ferrimagnet is suggested. The polarization is induced by the odd crystal field acting on 3d electrons of Fe2+, as well as by the spin–orbit interaction, exchange field, and orbital ordering. The calculated polarization is directed along the c axis of the crystal.
