Annotation The amounts of carbohydrates were analyzed in six winter rye varieties. Separation and detection monosaccharide's were performed by anion-exchange high-performance liquid chromatography. Varietal differences in the content of polysaccharides were significant. Molecular weight distribution of carbohydrates was evaluated using gel permeation chromatography on Agilent 1260 Infinity chromatograph (Agilent, Germany). Varieties Marusenka, Podarok, Ogonek should be attributed to low-pentosans samples of rye. Arabinoxylans in the grain of these cultivars are not only presented in smaller quantities, but apparently characterized by a lower degree of polymerization. Distinctions in monosaccharide composition of rye grain explained above all to genetic differences in cultivars.
