    Annotation The authors of the present paper investigated the problem of the importance of teachers' roles in higher educational institutions in the process of forming critical thinking among students. The ability to think critically allows future specialists to prepare for real professional activities, successfully implement assig ned tasks to them and achieve high results. Similarly, there is an opinion among many researchers that students' critical thinking is formed automatically in the teaching and educational process. The research authors introduced their own views on the probl em and considered the teacher personality as the central unit in the process of forming the critical thinking among university students.
