Annotation The stimulation of α1-ARs with MX induced bradycardia in isolated heart. Still in our experiments all studied concentrations of methoxamine induced negative inotropic reaction of isolated left ventricle of rats. The intensity of the negative inotropic effect depended on concentration of the agonist. Decreased heart rate and myocardium contractility with activation of α1-AR may be secondary to decreased ICa due activation of protein kinase C. It?s quite possible that α1-AR participate in more delicate regulation of cardiac function and most likely effects of stimulation depend on activity of other receptors and different intracellular systems.
    Keywords Rat, heart, alpha1-adrenoceptors, metoxamine.
