The article examines and points out the role of distant repetition in the creation of
subtext in fiction. The author of the article illustrates its importance and effectiveness by analyzing
distantly repeated elements in the novel «The Time of the Angels» by Iris Murdoch. It
is concluded that distant repetition provides logical perception, integrity and cohesion of textual
material. |
