Annotation In this article we analyze the genre peculiarities of Vahit Imamov's ―Sultan Suleiman‖ tale. The Tatar writer used the potential of ―Qissa‖ genre on the level of the tale's content as well as on the structure level. On the basis of descriptive-comparative method we outlined that V. Imamov follows the Turkic literary tradition in the development of the themes: ―the ennoblement from the lower classes«, ―fidelity and loyalty of spouses‖, ―moral admonitions to the descendants‖. The Tatar writer reflects on the philosophical problem about the role of chance in the history, as well as the role of the individual, who can change the fate of the state. We prove that the fictional tale about the life of Roxolana is closely interwoven with the historical one. Roxolana/Hürrem Haseki Sultan in the tale is shown as equal with Sultan Suleiman. The novelty of Tatar writer in outlining the theme of Roxolana's (1503/1505-1558) and Suleiman's (1494-1566) love lays in the fact that V. Imamov tries to show
