Annotation |
The paper studies the role of language in the structure of ethnocultural identity of the Tatar diaspora living in the People's Republic of China. The conclusion that native language is an important component of ethnocultural identify is made based on the carried out research. The degree of language proficiency of the Tatar diaspora is different: some respondents speak mixed Tatar-Uighur language and the Tatar-Kazakh language, not all can write in their native language. The Chinese language is means of ethnocultural identity and communication. Transfusion and mixture of lexico-grammatical phenomena of Uighur, Kazakh, and Chinese languages is typical for the linguistic world viev: of the Tatar diaspora living in the People's Republic of China. Usage of Sinicisms is common to not only the Tatar diaspora but also the Uighurs and the Kazakhs living in the People's Republic of China. |
