The current level of media system development and functioning requires the comprehension of the ethical
consequences concerning widely developing new technologies of information access, processing and
transfer, introduced into the system of journalistic activity. Especially such technologies as big data, which
served the development of data journalism, which is based on the analysis of large information arrays. The
aspect analysis of ethical and legal features of work with large data of journalists will help to consider
such topical issues as confidentiality, data security, the quality of information created by journalists. Based
on the study of the rating electronic media of the Republic of Tatarstan, ethical and legal peculiarities and
the problems encountered by journalists are revealed when you work with large data arrays: 1) the
