dc.description.abstract	The Article is devoted to the formation and development of higher pedagogical education in the field of geography in the Republic of Tatarstan. It traced the various historic stages of the preparation of geography teachers for secondary educational institutions. Given a brief description and analysis of the contributions of individual scientists - methodologists, geographers, it has left the most appreciable trace in the history of the development of higher geography and pedagogical education in the Republic of Tatarstan. The main tendencies of formation and development of geographical education in higher educational institutions of the Republic of Tatarstan includes: differentiation and integration; humanitarization and humanization; greening; regionalization; the use of competency-based approach reflecting the historical-pedagogical and socio-economic processes occurring	ru_RU
