dc.description.abstract	The relevance of the problem under study is due to the need to trace the formation of scientific approaches to the study of Islamic-Christian dialogue, the discourse where these approaches were developing, and the influence of social and political factors on this discourse. Objective of this paper is to describe the first attempts to study the interaction etween Islam and Christianity in the framework of missionary Islamic Studies in Russia. The leading research approaches to this problem are the systematic and typological approaches. The main results of the study are to identify the place and role of missionary Islamic Studies in the development of the background for the study of the Islamic-Christian inter-cultural dialogue. The main issues raised in the framework of this direction have been defined, the role of its representatives has been noted in the comparative study of the sources of Islamic and Christian faiths, as well as its key shortcomings have been accentuated.	ru_RU
