dc.description.abstract	Article assesses prospects for competitiveness of Kazan in relation to major cities of Russia. Role of categories of city mission, city type, and the external and internal environment in terms of improving the basics of assessing competitive position is investigated. Features of mission of Kazan are shown. Results of analysis of the main challenges to the development and SWOT-analysis of the competitive positions are stated. Authors propose method of comparative evaluation of the competitiveness, based on combination of ranking and data mining algorithms, on the base of which general qualitative assessment of the competitiveness of Kazan is made.	ru_RU
