It is well known that nongravitational parameters of comets in the most extensively applicated in practice Marsden's model vary with time. The behaviour of nongravitational parameters of comet Encke is the most studied. In this work an assumption is made that these variations are due to the secular decay of comets as a result of volatile materials loss. To explain the decrease of nongravitational forces, an accelerated decrease of relation of effective evaporating area to mass compared with the uniform nucleus is required. Three variants of such nonuniformity are proposed: 1) deposition of a substantial nonvolatile mass not impending the sublimation; 2) generation of a little-massive crust shrinking the effective area by a linear law; 3) generation of a little-massive crust shrinking the effective area by an exponential law. Differential equations for all three cases (with the additional assumption of the nucleus constant shape) are derived, whose solutions are consistent qualitatively with the observed variation of nongravitational parameters of comet Encke. The adequacy of former two models over more than 150 years interval is shown. Possible causes of deviations out of this are reviewed. |
