Annotation

In the article the author appeals to history of music and pedagogical education in Kazan. In the publication the process of foundation of music training of future teachers at Kazan Teacher Training Institute in 1876-1917 is reconstituted on basis of historical documents with indicating specific events and their participants. The author tells about teachers of singing and music who worked at the institute, about tasks, curricula and educational programmes, terms of music training of students at the institute during specified period. In his conclusions the author relies on the materials of the National Archives of the Republic of Tatarstan, newspaper publications and scientific research.
