KFU has close relations with two Czech universities: in April 2013 memorandums of understanding were signed with Masaryk University and the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences.  The key area of cooperation with Masaryk University is the organization of academic mobility of students and young scientists within the project “Aurora – towards modern and innovative higher education” financed by ЕС Erasmus Mundus Action 2 program. Four KFU students spent a semester studying at the Czech university, whereas Jaroslav Pitrik, the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University, started his semester course at Kazan University.

The Czech delegation met with the leaders of KFU represented by Danis Nurgaliev, Vice-Rector for Research, Andrey Krylov, Director of the Department of External Relations, Rashat Faizullin, Deputy Director of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology, Gulnara Sadykova, Director of Kazan Linguistics Centre.  The attendees discussed biomedicine and pharmaceuticals as the most promising areas of cooperation between Masaryk University and KFU. The Czech party expressed its interest in further deepening of academic exchange program in the field of humanities.

The collaboration with the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences should focus on academic exchange for students, postgraduates and professors. The partners evaluate KFU launching an education program in pharmaceuticals in accordance with the European standard approved by the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

“I am happy to visit Kazan University”, said Mikuláš Bek, “We have discussed our cooperation in establishing a resource centre at KFU and launching a Russian center in Czech Republic. We are eager to deepen our academic exchange programs and joint researches”.
