The 4th Conference on Science and Applied Research 'Post-Genome Methods of Analysis in Biology and Laboratory and Clinical Medicine' opened at Kazan University

The world best experts in genomics have gathered at the UNICS Great Hall of Kazan Federal University to take part in the 4th Conference on Science and Applied Research “Post-Genome Methods of Analysis in Biology and Laboratory and Clinical Medicine” that has been officially opened today.  

The Conference is organized with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, under the Federal Target Program “Development of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Industries of the Russian Federation until 2020 and Further Perspective”.

Experts from around the globe have come to Kazan, including Japan, Canada, Denmark, India, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Iran – over 100 participants in total. Leading Russian universities are presented at the event like Lomonosov Moscow State University, St Petersburg University, Novosibirsk State National Research University, Research Institute of Medical Genetics SB RAMS, about 20 academic institutes.

Among the conference speakers, there are coryphaeuses of modern science - Yoshihide Hayashizaki, Eric Westhof, David Leon, Alexander Gabibov, Vsevolod Tkachuk.

Danis Nurgaleev, KFU Vice-Rector for Research, kicked off the opening ceremony with a welcoming address. He emphasized the fact that it was the second time that Kazan was hosting the Post Genome Conference.  “Post-Genome Methods of Analysis is a research area that is in demand with medicine and neighbouring sciences. It is a brand new epoch of genome,” he said.

The 4-day-long Conference will offer plenary lectures and symposiums within 10 sections:

— Bioinformatics

— Cell technologies

 — Nanotech

 — Biomarkers

— Personalized medicine

 — Drug design
