Kazan Model United Nations

May 17 - the Institute of Philology and Arts, Kazan Federal University started its work conference "Kazan Model United Nations." The conference will last for three days and on May 19 the participants will receive their awards.

Kazan Model United Nations Club of is a community of young people interested in personal growth through the study of domestic and international issues, development of critical thinking and language skills. It was created in 2012 at the initiative of KFU students.

Young people arrange a variety of meetings, discussions and debates in order to attract active and talented young people to participate in seminars and conferences including international ones. The official language of the club is English.

One of the main objectives of the club is to involve young people of Tatarstan (undergraduate and graduate students) in the active process of participation in public life, to discuss the current global and local problems, deal with formation of citizenship; understand and apply individual development strategies.

Debate on the United Nations Model is a game where each participant represents the country of the UN community and promotes the interests of his country in the international arena as one of the committees of the UN. The game helps to develop critical thinking skills, public speaking skills, skills of diplomacy, and project management; preparation for the game involves the deep study of the material for the se­lected country.
